In order to be eligible for our programs, there are income limits that cannot be exceeded, depending on your family size. (Income limits are subject to change annually).

GMHA accepts in person applications for the public housing waiting lists on Monday thru Thursday, 8 - 4, and Friday, 8 - 11:30. In person applications must be completed in our office and only during the above specified time periods. GMHA is also accepting applications through the mail. To apply by mail, please download the Application Form, print it, fill it out and mail it into GMHA. Photocopies of social security cards for each individual and of a photo I.D. for each adult on the application MUST be sent with the application.

If you are applying in person, please provide a photo I.D. and social security card at the time you apply. If you are elderly, handicapped, disabled, or have difficulty with transportation, you may have a representative fill out the application for you. The representative should bring information regarding your Social Security Number, income, assets, banking information, landlord name and current living expenses.

Preference Points
Effective November 17, 2015, by GMHA Board Resolution R-20-15, the Residency and Working/Elderly/Disabled preferences were immediately suspended.

In accordance with 24CFR 982.209(b), GMHA uses the following local preferences:
2 points Victim of domestic violence
2 points Veteran or widow of veteran

Date and time of application ranks applicants within the same number of preference points.

GMHA has two separate programs; Public Housing and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. Each has its own waiting list and Program Manager. At the time of application, an applicant must indicate which program he/she is interested in.
